Hi, I’m Mark. I grew up in a family of small business owners, so I was exposed to the unique blend of responsibility and reward that comes with being a business owner. While something in me always wanted to follow suit, I started my career at a big 4 accounting firm. There I worked on several large and respected organizations which really expanded my horizons and built my foundational business skills. From there I obtained my CFA designation and transitioned to a large investment manager. There I performed extensive industry and stock specific research and analysis and led a small team of others who did the same. Eventually the bug to be my own boss worked its way to the surface and I bought an outdoor rental/retail shop. Adventuring in the mountains has always been a passion of mine so it was a great way to blend personal interest with business. After close to a decade of adventure in small business, complete with challenges, success, and lots of learning, I realized that I had amassed a broad skill set from a diverse career that could be a powerful combination in helping other business owners and entrepreneurs. I was also eager to draw more heavily on my financial and analytical roots. Today I run Argenta with an eagerness to have an impact on other businesses as well as to continue learning from all the great entrepreneurs, leaders, and innovators our economy has to offer.
